UNCLE NEWT AND A STICK OF STOVE WOOD

One morning Uncle Newt came out to His store bent over and told my Dad to look at the skinned places on His head. My Dad worked part time in Uncle Newt’s store when He sharecropped on Uncle Newt’s farm. My Dad asked Him what happened and Uncle Newt replied, “My Baby (that’s what He called His wife) hit me with a stick of stove wood after I poured a foot tub of water over Her head that I washed my feet in”.
