TIME OUT PLEASE 10/2/2007

How about a time out?  I will have written up all I know if I keep writing as I have been.  It’s kind of hard to decide if something other than a funny story would be of interest to such a wide variety of readers of “reflections”.  My interest might not be interesting enough for a majority of the readers.  But here goes with some reflections on a variety of things and maybe each reader will find one or more of interest.

I am a religious person that thinks religion should not be “worn on the shirt sleeve”.  I believe that each person should thank God for where they are at the present period of time in their life.  There is always some one just a little better off or just a little worse off than each of us.  Forgive me for using personal experiences or stories so much, but I read some where or heard that it is alright to do if the writing is of a personal nature or articles, series of similar points of interest, and some other things that I have forgot in my relatively quite and simple life.  To explain the better off and worse off a man told the following story.   Seems one day this man decided to take his son and daughter to visit their Uncle Sap they had never met.  The happy children jumped in the car so glad to see their Uncle that lived out in the country.  Dad drove down roads until the road ended and they walked through the woods, had to walk a log over a creek and finally after a long and tiring walk through the woods they came upon a small cabin built of logs.  They were so thirsty their Father drew some water from a well and after a refreshing drink went to the front door to knock and there was a note on the door, “gone to the country to rest up from all the mess going on around me”.  The children began to gripe about having to walk and why would anyone want to live that far out.  They were so much better off than their Uncle Sap.  Their Dad admonished them that uncle Sap might just feel He was better off than they were because He was happy with His life.  Nuff said.

Reflecting on the election misery we are going to have to go through until a new President is elected in 08, causes me concern about the life my children and grand children will have. Maybe I could have done more when they were growing up.  I do know this they along with all other school children were better behaved than present day children. I have my own reasons for why and I am sure you do to.  Be sure and VOTE
