MR. PIANO MAN

When I was a Boy about twelve, my mother bought a piano from one of Her Brothers and nothing do Her except I take lessons.  I did not take them long and one day when I was a junior in school one of the Senior Boys that the Principal –Coach was told to whip or she was going to whip the Principal-Coach. This best Basketball Player on the team of 1946 called me in the room where they kept the piano and began to ask a lot question about it.  The next day was Sunday Baccalaureates day.  When I walked in the best Basketball Player of 46 told me to listen to the music machine.  The Teacher in charge of the Senior Class activities nodded Her head and the Teacher playing nodded back and when she started playing no music came forth.  Finally the Teacher playing played for the Senior Class to march with the seven highest and seven lowest notes.

When the proceedings were over the Principal-Coach asked the Principal for the next year that had returned from service during WW II

What He should do. Peel replied,” They should march by the same tune for graduation as they did today”.  So Tuesday night they marched to the same tune to an overflowing crowd in good old Ogden High School Gym.
