The story is about a disease that is very rare. It is a disease concerning the nervous system and I have had a good life and now I am lucky enough to get something that is very rare. It is inherited so all you can do is treat the symptoms. I was the first case for Dr. Colvin I believe and I am so grateful to Him in the treatment of the disease. The CMTA is a national organization concerned with this condition and I wrote them and they have been very helpful. The disease will not kill you but it does gradually disable you. There is no age limit set for the disease so any one may inherit it. It started on me at about age fifty I believe and it really hit hard about three years ago. So if you see me using something to lean on or staggering around just think well that old Cuz is just wearing out. Other people in Franklin Parish have this disease that was discovered in 1880 and is named Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. So if you ever see some way to help the illness don’t let the name scare you off.
