There are several stations set up in an agriculture classroom for the FFA Club officers. At each station there is an article related to that officer’s position as an officer, an example being an ear of corn for a particular office as well as a plow for another. I have forgotten what goes where for the various positions.
One night a group of boys bought a can of Baby Blue paint at my father store, found an old bent up Slop Jar (chamber Pot for those city folks) poured the paint in it and painted all the officers stations articles of identification.
The nest morning we in the ninth grade had Ag. First period. We had no Agriculture Building at that time and used an upstairs classroom. After all had been seated someone said, Mr. Jones why is that slop jar on your desk? He had not gotten to his desk at that time and just laughed and said some one was probably playing a joke and threw it out the window. About ten minutes later some one said why was all the officers’ station painted Blue? Boy did Tater Head ever get mad and stormed down to the Principals Office. When the Principal who was also Basketball Coach found out members of His team were the culprits just laughed about it. Us boys in the ninth grade class did not laugh because we had to get the paint off the station emblems and were told in no uncertain terms not to cause one kernel of corn to come off the cob.
