T BONE AND THE T MODEL.

Soon after my mother and father married dad won a 22 rifle in a poker game while a group of young and elder men were having a pleasurable time gambling on Brouf River.  The participant’s wives would occasionally carry food to the party so the folk could keep up their strength. My Dad had lucky streak and won a 22 rifle, and then a T Model ford.  The car would not back up though.  The lever you pulled to back up with was broken but it was the first car they ever owned so as far as they were concerned it was a dandy. Mother just had to try it out and as they passed by Ogden a large boy named ‘T’ “Bone” Thornton was playing dear and dog and He was the last dear and as He and the car met His body mass bent the car door and it knocked Him out. Ever body went to hollering whose fault it was but the Superintendent of Schools saw the whole thing and ruled it was not my Mothers fault.
