GLASS COSTS LOTS OF PAIN

One day three of my cousins visited me.  School was out for the summer but I don’t member the exact day of week it was probably Sun. My cousins were Donnelle and  Pee Wee. We were bating rocks from the gravel road and one went into a windowpane of the Ogden High School.  It made a funny sound so we batted a few more.  One of the cousins threw a big stick into the boy’s window. That window was costly.  I had been saving dimes in a bank that would register a ten-cent advance each time a dime was inserted.  I only need about three or four dimes and the door would come open.  Dad was going to put ten dollars with the ten dollars the dime bank held and I had already picked out the twenty dollar model bike at the Firestone Store in Winnsboro.  It was a real dandy with a light, back shelf, and other goodies.  Dad came in the next night, He took the newspaper and spread it across His legs, took out His knife and inserted it in money opening like it was a dime and nine dollars and eighty cents came out.  He scooped it up, put it in His pocket and said, (there goes that bicycle).
