IS THE PROFESSIONAL YOU ARE USING CLIENT CENTERED?

Some professional people or client centered and some or self centered. What I am writing is that some people are Self Centered and some or not. Those that are not, are centered on the situation at hand. An example is a School Teacher is a Student Centered teacher or their main point of interest is testing results, neat classroom, impressing parents, and other things that are the Teachers center of interest. More about Teacher Centered Teaching in a later writing.

This is about Doctors and medical people. A person should know by the way a Doctor spends time with you and the general attitude of the people around Him or Her, what type Doctor He or She is using. If the Doctor is in Partner with another is important. If a point is made that the Doctor should schedule appointments in advance the Doctor should put the patients feeling first. They should not squeeze patients in between appointments. If the patient is critically ill the patient should be sent to the nearest Hospital after a quick exam with orders phoned over to the Hospital and the Doctor should go over at the first available time. Waiting patients should be told what happened and those waiting will have to wait a little longer to see the Doctor. In all other cases the person should know how the Doctor schedules appointments and not even have to be told they would have to come at a later time. If the Doctor is a real Patient Centered one, late appointments could be made at the end of regular schedule ones. No Patient Centered Doctor should set a certain amount of time to see each patient. There are other points to be made but some Doctors are more interested in working when they want to. They work usually certain days of the week but may change if something comes up they would like to do and just call in and tell the nurse at the phone they want be there. Usually these types can be identified if you have to call to be sure the Doctor is in that day. If a true emergency arises the person with the appointment should be called and told the Doctor will not be in that day because of an emergency. Most readers can identify the type Doctor a person is and not fuss if they are kept waiting long periods of time beyond their appointment time. Doctors know what type work they are getting into and should decide which type they are going to be and tell patients upon their first visit how their office will operate. If they don’t tell, the person should ask. It is about time that patients rights be set before Federal Regulations are sent down and then the Doctors want be spending time on time sheets some similar accounting methods. After all, Federal Funds are involved now.

All other medical people should be more patient centered than self centered or not be hired to work with people. There are plenty of medical jobs that do not require a person be patient centered but they should be job centered or not allowed to work in a job that might be directly involved with a Persons life.
