ELEPHANTS AND DONKEYS TOO MUCH ALIKE

Both Democrats and Republicans are having a hard time picking a person to run for Presidents at the head of their respective Parties.  The reasons are simple.  They all are too much alike in their beliefs in major problems facing America at the present time.  Another is the National Elections Committee is made up of six Democrats and six Republicans so they cannot decide any issue that does not favor the party when they vote on issues involving the interest of their party.  Another problem is there are no little real differences in the philosophy of the two major parties.  They even change beliefs sometimes during the same year.  The biggest problem underlying the above noted problems is this Country is a Democratic Republic not a pure Democracy.  When the Nation was born it was born in the midst of an argument about what type Government it would be.  A few even wanted to have a king.  When the vote came up the feeling was that the Country would not separate the Colonies from England.  The Colonies from the northern part wanted to and the southern part did not want to.  The Representative from North Carolina was late and the others knew He would vote not to separate and almost went home.  When He did get there He surprised everyone by voting to form a new country.  When asked why he voted in opposition to His own will He explained He was late because He took time to ride about South Carolina and find what the people wanted to do.  What a great thing if present day ELECTED officials would do that.  Their so-called reason is the areas they represent are so large they don’t have time.  I guess they haven’t learned about things like the U.S. Mail and the telephone and some other modern ways to get in touch with people.

What this country really needs is a good party to represent Middle Class Americans. The chances are slim because ever since Perot almost upset the rulers of the County’s apple cart the National Elections Committee has made the rules extremely hard to form a third party.  If a group try to raise the money and nominate someone they get in a big squabble and out the window goes that effort.  If one man has the money to pay all the costs all sorts of stories are stated on Him or Her like happened to Ross Perot. So out the window goes that effort.  But I believe and I might be alone in my thinking that something like a third party has to happen to save this country from Bankruptcy
