Kids, kids, kids. That is what Baby Goats are called.  School learners are called students or pupils or some other term related to learning but they are not supposed to be called Baby Goats.  If a Teacher came into the beginning of class and told the students, “Baby Goats, lets start work now”.  The class would probably give the teacher two bleats and butt said teacher out of the room.  Politicians, do good groups, and the like will fight a person for their own children but when it comes to all the students or any group of children the idea of doing for all children they will only do it if it helps their cause.

Politicians are very guilty of saying (when running for office) we must do this for the kids.  When the time finally comes time to do the good for the kids, they are already in office for the term elected and their memory fades.  State politicians in Louisiana used to (the 35 years I worked in education) give a raise to begin at midterm and then suddenly decide then they could only give one half the raise.  A $500 raise would be one half beginning at midterm =$250  and only a half of the raise =$125 per year instead of $500 per year.  The voters have the idea teachers just got a $500 a year raise, they don’t know how the politicians “doctored” it in various committee meetings.

Maybe that’s why some older teachers seemed to be so mean when I was in school.  I found out when I became a Principal the real reason.  We will go into the real reason at a later posting on this page of the Liddieville.com Web Site.
