CHANGES IN EDUCATION 10/4/2007

Until about fifteen years ago public education was the most prevalent form or type of education.  Today the fastest growing type of education is Home Schooling.  Then (not in order) is Charter Schools, Private schools and Home Schools made up of more than one family.  I believe the changes are just beginning to happen and will change at a faster rate as time goes on.  And as time goes on money for educating children will become a lot more mixed up than it even has been.  Many do not realize that Charter schools receive money for each child instead of that money going to regular Public Schools.  Public School people complain that hurts them financially.  It does not if the child moved to another Parish the money would follow the child the same as it follows the child to a Charter School.  If the public politicians would quit meddling with, and playing with, the schools and run them as they should be there would be no use for Charter Schools.  I started a Private School for some people.  The only reason for it was academic and safety.  Only dedicated people who are interested in children placed in their school should be left alone to run them as STUDENT CENTERED SCHOOLS.  When that happens their will be no need for alternative educational schools.  This will probably not happen in this State and God only knows what the future holds for those children that will be stuck in a sorry public school system.
